Past Indefinite Tense in Hindi (Simple Past Tense in Hindi)
Past Indefinite Tense’ को हम हिंदी व्याकरण भाषा में ‘सामान्य भूत काल’ भी कहते है। इस tense को हम अतीत में होने वाले कार्यो को अथवा भूत काल में शुरू हुई और ख़त्म हो चुकी घटनाओं को व्यक्त करने के लिए प्रयोग करते है।
Past Indefinite Tense को हम अंग्रेजी में ‘Simple Past Tense’ भी कहते हैं जिसका अर्थ ‘सामान्य भूत काल’ होता है।
Past Indefinite Tense की पहचान
‘Past Indefinite Tense’ की हम किस तरह से पहचान कर सकते हैं?
Past Indefinite Tense के वाक्यों को पहचानना बहुत ही आसान है, यदि किसी वाक्य के अंत में ‘आ’, ‘या ‘, ‘ई ‘, ‘खा’, ‘ये’, ‘यो ‘, ‘ता था’, ‘ते थे ‘, ‘ती थी ‘ जैसे “पढ़ा”, “सीखा”, “खाया”, “बैठा”, “गया”, “देखा”, “समझा”, “बोला”, “लिया”, “दिया”, इत्यादि, शब्दों का प्रयोग हो, उन वाक्यों को हम Past Indefinite Tense कहते हैं।
Formula: Subject + verb 2 (verb का दूसरा form) + Object.

Types of Past Indefinite Tense Sentences in Hindi
Simple Past Tense के वाक्यों के कुल तीन प्रकार होते हैं।
- Affirmative sentence (सकारात्मक वाक्य)
- Negative sentence (नकारात्मक वाक्य)
- Interrogative sentence (प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य)
Affirmative Sentence
Affirmative sentence (सकारात्मक वाक्य) का मतलब होता है simple sentence (साधारण वाक्य) जिसका हमेशा प्रायोग होता है।
इन वाक्यों को लिखते समय हम verb का 2nd form का प्रयोग करते हैं क्यूंकि यह दर्शाता हैं की कहा गया कार्य पूरा हो गया है।
Affirmative sentence की रचना
Formula: Subject + verb 2 (verb का दूसरा form) + object.
Examples,
- She lived in that house.
वह उस घर में रहती थी।
- He gave me a book yesterday.
उसने मुझे कल एक किताब दी।
- Sagar went to London for his business meetings.
सागर अपनी व्यावसायिक बैठकों के लिए लंदन गए थे।
- My friend wrote a novel on Human Psychology.
मेरे मित्र ने मानव मनोविज्ञान पर एक उपन्यास लिखा था।
- We won the match.
हम मैच जीते।
Negative sentence
Negative sentence (नकारात्मक वाक्य) का मतलब होता है simple negative sentences (नकारात्मक साधारण वाक्य) जो हम किसी चीज़ को मना करने हेतु प्रयोग करते हैं।
भूत काल में affirmative sentence बनाते समय किसी भी helping verb का इस्तेमाल नहीं होता है। लेकिन जब हम negative sentence बनाते है तब “did” इस helping verb का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है और फिर “not” का प्रयोग किया जाता है और जो verb का 2nd form है वह 1st form में हो जाता हैं।
यदि वाक्य मे ‘कभी नहीं’ आया हो तो ‘never‘ का प्रयोग करते है। ‘। never’ के साथ ‘did not’ नहीं लगाते हैं ।
Negative sentence की रचना:
Formula: Subject + (did not) नहीं + Verb 1 (s/es) + object.
Examples,
- They did not play well yesterday.
कल वे अच्छा नहीं खेले।
- He did not complete his assignments.
उन्होंने अपना कार्य पूरा नहीं किया।
- She never hesitates in taking part in cultural events.
वह सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में हिस्सा लेने से कभी नहीं हिचकिचाती।
- Raman did not go to school.
रमन स्कूल नहीं गया।
- It did not rain today.
आज बारिश नहीं हुई।
Interrogative Sentence
Interrogative sentence (प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य) का मतलब होता है simple question sentence (साधारण प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य) जो हम किसी से प्रश्न करने हेतु प्रयोग करते हैं। प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य affirmative and negative (सकारात्मक और नकारात्मक) दोनों ही तरीके के होते हैं।
Interrogative sentence हमेशा प्रश्नवाची शब्दों (Did) से प्रारम्भ होता है। अगर किसी वाक्य में (Wh) जैसे प्रश्नवाची शब्द उपस्थित हो तब हम Wh शब्द से वाक्य शुरू करते है इसके बाद did और फिर बाकी। अगर वाक्य नकारात्म्क हो तो फिर subject के बाद not लगाते है।
Interrogative sentence की रचना :
Formula: Did + Subject + [not / नहीं (for negative Interrogation)] + verb 1 + Object + ?
Wh + did + Subject + [not / नहीं (for negative Interrogation)] + verb 1 + Object + ?

For Affirmative sentences,
- My brother worked in a financing company.
मेरा भाई एक Financing company में काम करता था।
- Yesterday, she reached her home late at night.
कल देर रात वह अपने घर पहुंची।
- The local residents caught the thief.
स्थानीय लोगों ने चोर को पकड़ लिया।
- Rancho spoke English very well.
रैंचो बहुत अच्छी अंग्रेजी बोलता था।
- Jayson played piano in the program.
कार्यक्रम में जैसन ने पियानो बजाया।
- He bought chocolates for his younger sister.
उसने अपनी छोटी बहन के लिए चॉकलेट खरीदी।
- The train arrived at the station on time.
ट्रेन समय पर स्टेशन पहुंच गई।
